Graduation Preparation & Commencement

Graduation Preparation

Degrees are awarded three times annually: January, May, and August. The Graduation Requirements page is an important first step in double checking that you are ready to begin preparing for graduation.

In preparation for graduation, all students must file a “Graduation Application” online in LOCUS at:  http://www.luc.edu/regrec/graduation.shtml by the official application deadlines.

In addition, all students who are pursuing a Juris Doctor degree must schedule a Graduation Interview with Dora Jacks, Law Registrar one semester prior to your final semester to review your credentials and register for graduation. For more details on the Graduation Interviews.

Commencement Preparation

Commencement ceremonies are conducted annually during the month of May at the Lake Shore campus.

In honor of our graduates, the School of Law hosts a reception at the Water Tower Campus usually the evening before the commencement ceremony. Graduates are invited to bring family members and guests to join faculty, administration and staff in a joyful celebration of our graduates' achievements.

The itinerary for the morning of the commencement is as follows:

9:00 a.m. Baccalaureate Mass
11:00 p.m. Commencement Ceremony (1 1/2 hrs)
Reception (immediately following the ceremony)

Visit the University Commencement site for more information.
